• TRUCK OVERLOADED WITH 20 BAGS OF RUBBISH ALMOST SNAPS IN HALF

This truck almost snapped in half after dangerously piling on more than TWENTY giant bags of rubbish.

The driver was spotted with the heavy load piled 12ft high on the back of the wagon as he drove to a recycling plant in Chonburi near Pattaya, Thailand.

Fellow motorists accused the man of putting other road users at risk - and trying to same fuel money by piling on the bags of waste metal and plastic.

Shocking pictures show how the vehicle is travelling along a busy road while bent in the middle almost to breaking point.

Stunned passerby Apiroom Sukjai said: ''There's no reason for doing something so dangerous. Roads are already so risky. He should be more sensible.

''People think the driver was trying to save money by putting all the bags on so he did not need to make two trips. What if one fell onto another car?''
• EVER been too busy to give the car a proper clean and ended up with a back seat full of rubbish?

Well spare a thought for these hapless souls who don’t seem to have EVER given their motor a tidy.

these snaps of junk-filled autos from around the world, and some of them look more like skips. It is hard to imagine how the owners even manage to get into some of these rolling dustbins, as they appear to be filled to bursting point with newspapers and other junk.
Lets just hope they never have to give their mates a lift to the shops.

Garbage Mountain

Just a few miles from the famous Akshardham temple, where tourists flock to see the structure's sandstone and marble work, the 29-hectare, slum-surrounded Ghazipur landfill in east Delhi seems a world apart. Each day hundreds of mainly migrant workers earn a meager living at the landfill by collecting recyclable material like plastic, metal and even hair to sell. The dump is the last port of call for Delhi's trash, having already been picked through by other waste collectors who collect bags of garbage directly from homes. Delhi is home to three landfills where around 6,000 tons of trash is dumped daily. Studies have shown that living near a landfill increases the risk of cancer, birth defects and asthma.

Photo shows: Amidst a thick blanket of smoke, a rag picker sifts through a pile of rubbish to pick out pieces of glass, metal and plastic at the Ghazipur landfill.
• A tidal wave of trash washed up onto Pattaya Beach last night leaving tourists and locals wondering where it was all coming from.

The ocean and beach were littered between Sois seven and nine. Crowds of tourists and local people gathered to try and find out what was going on.

One local, who lived in the area long before the tourists came told reporters, ‘It used to be lovely here. That’s why people came to visit in the first place. I don’t know where all this rubbish comes from. Is it us locals, or is it the visitors. Or does it come from somewhere else?’

The image of Pattaya is further damaged by such scenes and the authorities are being urged to resolve the problem once and for all.

Photo shows: BHAGMATI KUMARI has been working at the landfill ever since she lost her husband 14 years ago. She earns 50-70 rupees, which is approximately one dollar, for sifting and sorting garbage for nine hours a day.
