• Rich McCor transforms famous locations into amazing artwork using paper cut-out's

artist Rich McCor has used intricate paper cut-outs to transform some of the world's most recognisable summer holiday destinations into amazing artwork.

But over the past six months the 29-year-old has turned his hand to converting global hotspots - and he does it all with nothing more than paper and a pair of scissors.

Rich has turned the statue of Julius Caesar, which holds court outside the iconic Caesars Palace hotel in Las Vegas, into a selfie stick-wielding tourist.
The tree-like towers in Singapore's Gardens by the Bay have become tees for a giant golf ball, while New York's Guggenheim Museum has been transformed into a vase for daffodils.
Rich said: 'It all began in London when I turned Big Ben into the London Eye and from there created a series of photos from London.

I've been able to travel further afield and have had a jam-packed year so far, visiting Hong Kong, Singapore, Nanjing, Val d'Isere, New York and Las Vegas.
'It's been great to transform familiar sights into something different and it's even more fun watching people's reactions when they see my photos.
'I really enjoy it when other tourists come up to me and ask what I'm doing.
'When I show them the photo their faces go through a transition of confusion, to smiling and then laughing.'

Rich, who has jacked in his job at a creative agency to travel the world through his hobby, saw his quirky photographs first go viral last year.
He has since racked up more than 160,000 followers on Instagram and was the tenth fastest growing UK profile on the social network in the last year.
And Rich admits crafting some of the paper cut outs can be both therapeutic and tedious at times, but said he has some nifty tools which help him make the process less fiddly than it looks.

'It's been a really unique way of travelling and I'm very fortunate other people enjoy the way I see the world.'

• When refugees unveil their most valuable possession

For his personal project entitled ImPORTRAITS, photographer Gabriel Hill has produced a series of portraits of refugees, revealing their most valuable possession.
A powerful and moving way of telling their stories through a simple object, be it a picture, a cuddly toy or even a simple piece of paper.

Photo Shows: I got on a ship in Libya that was supposed to bring us to Italy. I couldn‘t take anything with me except the clothes I was wearing and a little piece of paper with the phone number of my family on it. They had told me to get in touch with them as soon as I would arrive in Italy. About half way, the ship overturned and sank. My clothes were soaked and became so heavy I had to take them off. They disappeared in the sea, along with that piece of paper with my family‘s phone number on it. I survived, together with about 200 others. More than 250 people from that ship drowned.
Months after eeing Eritrea, I found someone in Switzerland who could re- ach out to my family. They thought I hadn‘t survived the crossing. This piece of paper with their number on it used to be the most important thing I owned.“
• Washington state father on his way to see newborn son killed in apparent road-rage shooting

A Washington state father was killed in an apparent road-rage shooting on his way to see his newborn son.

Dennis Sloboda, 32, had fled to his brother Anton's apartment Monday night, telling him he had cut someone off while driving, according to the Seattle Times. The other driver pulled out a gun, then followed him to the Federal Way home.
He asked his brother for a gun, which Anton Sloboda did not provide. After the pair waited until they believed the gunman had left, Dennis Sloboda departed for the hospital.

"I looked and I could see the guy he was talking about, but he left when he saw me," Anton Sloboda told the Seattle Times in a phone interview on Tuesday.
Dennis Sloboda's wife told Anton that Dennis never made it to the hospital.

"She looked at the (GPS) on his cellphone and saw that he looked like he was in the street," Anton Sloboda told the paper. "I went down there, but the police would not let me get close. They said I had to go to talk to the detectives."
Dennis Sloboda was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head five minutes by car from his brother's home, the newspaper reported. The gunshot traveled through the back of the vehicle, according to the paper.

Authorities said Sloboda was involved in "some type of road-rage incident" but the case remains under investigation.
Dennis Sloboda had been married since March and had two jobs, according to the paper. His wife had given birth a few days before he was killed.

He leaves behind two children and his wife, according to a GoFundMe page posted by the family.
• World's slimmest keyboard is PAPER-THIN and turns ANY area into a touchscreen

British scientists have invented a flexible computer keyboard that is as thin as a piece of paper and can turn any area into a touch-sensitive surface.

Tech company Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) claims its keyboard is the world's thinnest, at half a millimeter thick and offers consumers a 'glimpse of future computing interfaces' that are paper-thin, wireless and respond to touch.

The device can be used to extend the touch-sensitive areas of tablets and smartphones so customers can use a full-size thin keyboard to type messages on their mobile.
It combines the company's low-power wireless technology with cutting-edge printable and flexible electronics.
• Last Of The Reef Buffalo

Even the victim was laughing, but Dr. Steve Oakley was not amused. He’d spent hours waiting for the perpetrator at its "love nest" that morning, then gone down to one of its nighttime hangouts to look for it in the afternoon. Sure enough, as soon as he left, the "Spratly Killer Wrasse" was back at the "bachelor pad," and everybody had seen it but him. Some of the divers got a little closer look than they were expecting. One of the guests, a gentleman from Scandinavia, described how the giant humphead wrasse had responded to the discharge of photo strobes by dashing forward and striking him in the chest so hard that it knocked the wind out of him, and splitting his head open with its fang-like teeth. I might have thought he was exaggerating, if he hadn’t shown me the three-inch gash on his bald pate.
Lest anyone doubt that this "cute" fish with its expressive eyes is a tough character, let me refer the reader to Randall, et al.’s 1978 paper on "Food habits of the giant humphead wrasse, Cheilinus undulatus (Labridae)." First, let it be noted that the suspect also goes by the aliases "Maori wrasse" and "Napoleon wrasse." It is the largest wrasse in the world, reaching a length of 2.3 m and a weight of 191 kg. (For the record, that’s about three times what I weigh, with my shoes on). According to Randall, the stomach contents include molluscs, crustaceans, echinoderms, fishes, coral, algae, sponges, and foraminifera – in other words just about everything on the reef, although the last four items were considered to have been ingested incidentally. Specific items consumed include sea hares, which exude a noxious chemical when disturbed, and boxfish, which exude a poison so strong that it often kills all the other fish kept in an aquarium with them. Also eaten were cone shells – snails that hunt fish with a poison dart armed with venom strong enough to kill several humans. Other dietary items included sharp-fanged moray eels, prickly l

First, let it be noted that the suspect also goes by the aliases "Maori wrasse" and "Napoleon wrasse." It is the largest wrasse in the world, reaching a length of 2.3 m and a weight of 191 kg. (For the record, that’s about three times what I weigh, with my shoes on).
