• I Have Seen North Korean People Smiling!

"Some say about North Korea that the only ones who smile are the "Dear Leaders" on the propaganda stuff", says Photographer Eric Lafforgue

But after 6 trips in the most closed country, I can say that North Koreans are not the robots many depict... They also smile!

Even if they suffer from the lack of freedom and a dictatorship, they can have happy moments in their life... This was not easy to take those pics as the guides that always follow you are always suspicious, even when they see happy people!
• Sunbed's are back on Patong Beach as Patong Mayor confirms it bring happiness to tourists

Sun loungers returned to Patong Beach under a new campaign driven by Patong Mayor Chalermluck Kebsup to “bring happiness to Phuket tourists”. Workers started unloading the beach chairs and placing them inside the “10% zones” at 11am, Mayor Chalermluck confirmed “Yes, this is first day of beach chairs being brought back to Patong Beach. This has been approved by the Maj Gen Pornsak Poonsawat, Deputy Commander of Royal Thai Army Region 4,” Mayor Chalermluck said.
The Army Region 4 base in Nakhon Sri Thammarat is the military unit responsible for all of Southern Thailand.

Gen Pornsak, who last conducted inspection visit to Patong Beach on Feb 10 , was back on Patong Beach to oversee the beach chair restoration in person, Mayor Chalermluck added.

“At first, we set out the beach chairs at 11am as a trial, but the tourists saw them and appreciated them and were happy, and they started to sit down using the beach chairs,” she explained. “Gen Pornsak saw the good feedback from tourists himself, so I asked him to allow beach chairs to stay on the beach, not just for a trial – and he approved it,” Mayor Chalerluck said.

“This will help tourists to be no longer confused about why sun loungers are not allowed on the beach, and will make it more comfortable for elderly tourists who want to enjoy sitting on the beach,” she added.

However, the use of sun loungers on the beach is restricted to the “10% zones”, which are the only areas on the sand where vendors may provide services, Mayor Chalermluck explained.“In Patong, There is five 10% zones, with 180 umbrellas and 360 beach chairs in each zone,” she added.

“Beach chair rental prices are limited to not more than B200 per a chair,” she said.

“This is in line with the original policy set out in 2014, which allowed beach chairs in the 10% zones only, which is flexible and better for elderly tour

Meerkat Poses With Happy Anglers

This curious meerkat was a constant companion of photographer Dave Lewis during surf-fishing trips for silver kob and other battlers along the wild Namibia coast.

Dave lewis said “The little chap’s name was pronounced 'curry,' but spelled some other way,” he said. “At the time, I was regularly hosting surf-fishing trips to the Skeleton Coast in Namibia, when we stopped to fish, he would spend the day digging holes in the sand and generally foraging around. Whenever a bird flew over, he would run to the nearest angler and sit as tight as he could to their legs for protection. As you can see, he loved having his photo taken.”
• Adorable Before and After pictures of Animals growing up

Pets and people share a very special bond when they grow up together, which is why we’ve compiled a list of pictures of people and their pets growing up and sometimes growing old together.

Because of their shorter lifespans, dogs, cats and other domestic animals tend to grow out of their juvenile forms relatively quickly. In a few months, that cute and doofy puppy that’s tripping all over himself will be galloping between your legs enthusiastically, and in a few months more he or she will be approaching their adult size. Their growing bodies and maturity help put the changes in our own lives into perspective as well. It also helps us appreciate the fact that they spend their lives by our sides as our faithful companions.

Their shorter lifespans also mean that our beloved pets will invariably become a beautiful lesson in both love and loss. Watching your furry childhood friend grow old and die is a harrowing and sorrowful but also natural and potentially enlightening part of life. Of course, that might not be the case for the guy with the tortoise – although their lives are drastically shorter in captivity, a pet that can live for a century or more certainly has a chance to outlive its owner.
