Thaipusam Festival in Kuala Lumpur

A Hindu devotee pierced his tongue with metal skewers to take part of the Thaipusam procession in the Batu Caves. To mark this day, Hindus devotees pierce different part of their body with various metal skewers and carry pots of milk on their heads along couple of kilometers to celebrate the honor of Lord Subramaniam (Lord Murugan) in the Batu Caves, one of the most popular shrine outside India and the focal point to celebrate the Thaipusam Festival in Malaysia..Thaipusam is an annual Hindu festival, observed on the day of the full moon during the Tamil month of Thai, it is also a public holiday for many people.
