Storm Trooper cake
May The Fork Be with you...Life-size stormtrooper cake
IT looks a little sweet for a stormtrooper — and that's because this life-size baddie is actually a giant CAKE.
The 300lb galactic gateau was made in the shape of the Star Wars soldiers for a sci-fi convention.
Husband and wife bakers Tiler and Amanda Oakleaf and their team of ten took two weeks to bake and build the 6ft 4in masterpiece, using 208 eggs, 140lbs of sugar and 55lbs of marshmallows.
And the cake fed more than 600 hungry geeks at the Arisia Sci-Fi Convention in Boston, Massachusetts.
Tiler said: "We have always dreamed of doing something like this and in the end we made it because we could really.
"It took two weeks to make the cake with the whole team involved, but we wanted to make sure that there were people to eat it in the end because we didn't want to waste food. "On Friday we took it to a sci-fi convention and it ended up feeding 600 people and there were still others lining up for a slice even when we had finished. "An important thing for us was that the cake tasted just like any other we would make, so the ingredients, the frosting, the buttermilk were just the same standard as one of our wedding cakes."
Tiler added that it had always been a dream of his team to create some kind of "humanoid" character cake.
The body was made from layers of sponge covered with icing supported by an iron frame and the legs were made of Rice Krispies.
Tiler — who started the business Amanda Oakleaf Cakes from one room with his wife in 2009 — said they had already had interest from customers in recreating the cake.
He said: "One lady in Florida has already asked us to make one for the summer."
